In Memory of Water
This beautiful book of the In Memory of Water poems by Simon Armitage features the 6 'Stanza Stones' poems each of which is accompanied by an original commissioned wood engraving by Hilary Paynter. The book also contains additional words by Simon on the landscapes and motivations for each piece.
The edition is limited to 150 copies individually numbered, with a further 26 deluxe, slipcased copies lettered A to Z. There are also 10 presentation copies numbered I to X which are bound in full leather and presented in a Solander box along with a portfolio containing six broadsides of the poems with the accompanying engraving. Each book and broadside in the edition is signed by both Simon Armitage and Hilary Paynter.
The edition, designed and printed by John Grice of the Evergreen Press, Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, was printed from Centaur 16 point type on Zerkall paper and bound at the Fine Book Bindery, Wellingborough, England. The binding on the standard and deluxe editions is Harmatan Blue 13 spine quarter leather with Merida Indigo endpapers. It is bound with Tele Legatoria 2355 Canvas Extra R Fantasia! cloth sides and has a letterpress printed label plate-sunk into front board
The Standard edition is £75 plus P&P.
The Deluxe edition of 26 books housed in the custom built slipcase is £125 plus P&P.
